The ADB SAFEGATE Prefabricated Field Electric Centre (APFEC) is a series of custom and semi-standard pre-engineered, factory assembled, airfield lighting electrical buildings (vaults) that contain all the necessary equipment for complete operation of an airfield lighting system in one self-contained unit. Each APFEC comes complete with all electrical power, constant current regulators, airfield lighting control, diesel generator and auxiliary equipment preinstalled, connected and tested, greatly reducing the time and cost of on-site installation and switchover. The APFEC is available in a variety of sizes and configurations to suit the individual site requirements. The Style II building is typically supplied in 12 ft [3.66 m] width, in either single- or double-width configurations, and lengths up to 70 ft [21.33 m]. Various Airfield Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS) architectures can be incorporated in the electrical system design to provide control and monitoring of the various airfield lighting and building systems.
Internal airfield lighting power and control equipment is fully compliant with the appropriate Transport Canada, FAA and ICAO requirements.
