Masts, Normeka (Aluminium)
Frangible Masts are lightweight, yet rigid structures that break or yield on impact, to minimize damage and maximize safety, and thus protect property and life in the event of a runway incursion. ADB SAFEGATE has a partnership with Normeka to analyze the geophysical structure of an airport and recommend customized installation of these ICAO- compliant frangible airfield structures.
We can provide frangible aluminium-masts for approach lighting, Glide Path system, ILS Localizer, weather observation, and a wide array of airfield equipment. The masts are manufactured out of aluminium so the weight is kept very low. The lattice-design gives the mast good strength, but even more important, makes the mast frangible in case of a collision with an aircraft. Normeka masts fulfill ICAO requirements and are considered frangible.
