ADB SAFEGATE Training Academy delivers a structured, role-based learning journey designed for airside professionals at every stage of their career.

Built on Standards. Delivered with Precision.

ADB SAFEGATE Training Academy delivers a structured, role-based learning journey designed for airside professionals at every stage of their career. Through a flexible blend of self-paced e-learning, live virtual instructor-led sessions, and immersive classroom training at our global facilities, we equip teams with the knowledge and practical expertise required to operate and maintain critical airfield infrastructure.

Our curriculum spans airfield fundamentals and safety compliance through to advanced technical training in AGL installation, maintenance, and airfield design — with dedicated competence pathways tailored for technicians, engineers, maintenance managers, and operations professionals.

Beyond course delivery, our certified assessors conduct structured proficiency evaluations and competence mapping to pinpoint capability gaps and define targeted development plans for your teams. Every training pathway is built to align with international regulatory frameworks — including ICAO, FAA, and EASA — and can be tailored to comply with specific local Civil Aviation Authority requirements, ensuring both global consistency and local relevance.

Training Academy — FAQ

ADB SAFEGATE provides six core design resources: a CCR calculator, photometric design tools, a BIM object library, design specifications, typical installation drawings, and project-specific engineering support. All resources are available free of charge to airport designers, consultants and engineers.

Yes. The CCR calculator is available free of charge through the ADB SAFEGATE website. It calculates the correct Constant Current Regulator rating for a given circuit based on cable length, lamp quantity and lamp type — in accordance with ICAO and FAA requirements.

A CCR calculator is an engineering tool that determines the required current regulator rating for an airfield lighting series circuit. It takes inputs including circuit cable length, lamp type and quantity, and returns the minimum CCR specification needed to maintain correct current across the full circuit under all operating conditions.

Photometric design tools calculate the intensity levels produced by a proposed airfield lighting layout and compare them against ICAO Annex 14 minimum and maximum requirements. Inputs include fixture types, spacings, approach paths and runway geometry. Outputs confirm regulatory compliance and identify non-compliant zones.

ADB SAFEGATE’s BIM object library includes manufacturer-accurate models for airfield inset lights, elevated fixtures, CCRs, control systems, airfield signs and docking guidance systems. Objects are available in formats compatible with major BIM authoring platforms.

Yes. ADB SAFEGATE BIM objects are available in Revit-compatible formats. Contact the design team to request specific product objects or families for your project.

ADB SAFEGATE BIM objects are developed to LOD 500 level, including precise physical geometry, installation constraints, product data, asset identification information and maintenance reference data. This makes them suitable for use throughout the full project and operational lifecycle.

Yes. If a specific product BIM object is not available in the standard library, ADB SAFEGATE’s engineering team can develop it for your project. Contact the design team with your requirements.

Yes. ADB SAFEGATE provides a library of typical installation drawings covering inset lights, elevated lights, CCR installations, airfield signs, approach lighting and apron systems. These can be accessed through the Installation Drawings section of this website.

Yes. Where standard drawings do not address a specific project requirement, ADB SAFEGATE’s design team can produce project-specific installation drawings tailored to your infrastructure, regulatory environment and construction requirements.

Yes. All ADB SAFEGATE design tools and calculators are developed and maintained in accordance with current ICAO Annex 14 requirements and guidance material. Users should verify that calculations reflect the current edition of applicable standards for their project.

Yes. ADB SAFEGATE design tools are used on FAA-regulated airport projects across the Americas and internationally. The CCR calculator and photometric tools reference applicable FAA Advisory Circular requirements.

Yes. ADB SAFEGATE design resources are freely available to airport operators, engineering consultants, project managers and contractors. They can be used on projects involving ADB SAFEGATE equipment as well as for general airfield engineering reference.

Yes. BIM objects can be shared with contractors for use in construction coordination and as-built recording. Contact the design team to discuss access arrangements for your project.

Use the ‘Talk to an Engineer’ button on this page to contact ADB SAFEGATE’s Design & Consulting team. An engineering specialist will discuss your project requirements and propose the most appropriate resources or support.
