Canada PMA Offer_CSA_Z463-18
With the recent adoption of CSA Z463-18 by the Standards Council of Canada, airports are now required to provide regularly scheduled maintenance to their airfield lighting power and control equipment, by specifically trained electricians or technicians. This Standard has been developed to improve safety for workers and protection of property through the adoption and systematic application of maintenance strategies for electrical equipment. It specifies basic requirements for maintenance programs and provides guidance on preferred practices for maintenance of electrical equipment.
Section 9.19 of CSA Z463-18 provides the minimum guidance and safety factors for the inspection and maintenance of airfield visual aids. Annex N defines operating tolerances and inspection and maintenance schedule requirements.

In compliance with CSA’s Z463-18 improved maintenance requirements, we recommend that your Constant Current Regulators and Airfield Lighting Control Systems undergo our annual safety and maintenance service.
The yearly maintenance program includes testing and reporting on the following:
- ALCMS Enclosure inspections and cleaning (fans / heating / cooling)
- Complete ALCMS software diagnostics and recommendations
- Constant Current Regulator Output Tuning
- Spare parts inventory and recommendations
- UPS evaluation and testing
- ALCMS Computer and PLC testing and diagnostics
- Radio Equipment Inspection & diagnostics
- Touchscreen inspection, cleaning and calibration
- Full L-829 testing including Primary Power / Remote – Local Testing
- CCR SCR Waveform recording and Analysis
- Record CCR output Current, Voltage, VA and IRMS readings
- DCMU Firmware Updates if required
- Database evaluation, repair and clean-up
- Distributed Control Equipment (DCMU) diagnostics and testing
- Infra-red Picture for CCR Hot spots
- Network Hubs and switch inspection and diagnostics
